In this episode of Able Lives Incorporated we visit diverse worksites,
a municipality, a retailer, a major corporation and a small business to
explore the relationships between employer and employee. We also
see how the desire to excel in their respective fields is what drives
all the people who this show will profile.
In our first segment, we head to Purchase New York to visit one of this
country’s major food product corporations, Pepsico. Mike Mihok had
returned to New York a changed man after having worked for a period on
the West Coast, and was applying for work at his old company .
But how he would be received had Mihok nervous because his MS had
advanced and he now needed a wheelchair. Little did he know that his
return would be instrumental in the production of a Pepsi Super Bowl
commercial.
Next we go back to the morning of September 11, 2001, when Adrian
Garcia was a senior in High School still contemplating his future. This
event inspired Adrian, who says he was never considered patriotic
before this event, to join the military to protect his friends
and country. Just a few months later Adrian was where he wanted to be;
on the offensive in Afghanistan. His experience left him disabled with
excrutiating back pains, but upon his return home he wanted to move on
with his life and find work.
Envision a view of a park, with trees in full bloom and children in a
playground. These are some of the things that drew Bill Demaio to the
field of Parks and Recreation. Before DeMail could fulfill that goal,
however, those vivid images began to literally fade away from the
inside out, leaving only hazy peripheral vision.
Choosing complementary colors and just the right foundation, blush and
eye liner is what Mary Tarzia was born to do, and she is a sales record
breaker at CVS a job she loves. But this wasn't easy for Mary, who used
to see only red when she thought about going to school or work.
Today, however, Mary sees red, auburn, peach, honey gold and whatever
she needs to bring color to your cheeks, gloss to your lips, or shades
that complement your eyes…
